Will Smith eindigt in tranen na uitdelen klap Chris Rock

Will Smith liet menig kijker van de Oscars zondagavond in shock achter. De acteur verkocht Chris Rock namelijk live op televisie een flinke klap op het podium, nadat de comedian een grap maakte over Will zijn vrouw Jada Smith.

Toen Will Smith later op de avond de award voor beste acteur in ontvangst mocht nemen hield hij het niet droog. Hij bood zijn excuses aan voor het incident, maar niet aan Chris Rock. “I want to apologize to the Academy, I wanna apologize to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment and I’m not crying for winning an award. It’s not about winning an award for me. It’s about being able to shine a light on all of the people … art imitates life.
